Amazes us, these flying machines
Swirling with glory,
Spreading vivid colors,
Skies graced as a bride to be,
Mesmerized by the sight
Speechless here I stand .
Shaken by a sudden thud,
Huge red flames blanketing the sky,
Panicking mob, the flashes of camera,
Sirens of ambulances filling my ears,
Unidentified bodies, ashes of the maverick,
Reality never sets in, mind still hazy.
Officers sympathizing the daring heroes
Who saved us from a greater disaster.
Saga never ends, Lesson never learnt
Many lives at stake, loss merely for their kin,
Simple query lingers in my mind,
Is life at stake worth an amusement?
Who is to be blamed? The authorities, politicians ….
Look into a mirror, the culprit smiles back at you

Nicely written da. After a few days, none of the witnesses or the officers are reminded of such daring officers who have sacrifised their lives for 'amusement'. Its only their own kith and kin who will feel the void and the pain of losing.

just read the poem and it did bring back the sad memories (it's been more than a month now !). it's quite a nice one and I think it appeals really well to us as we know the context clearly.
